Feast Of Fools

Hear ye, hear ye! The Shakespeare by the Sea Festival invites you to don your gowns and codpieces and join them for their FEAST OF FOOLS fundraising evening!

Featuring roasted pig and other fine feast fare prepared by the award-winning chefs Shaun Hussey and Michelle LeBlanc of Chinched Bistro – this three-course meal will be served medieval-style (utensils optional) by lusty wenches and lanksome lads complete with “period” mead and wine.

Entertainment as only the folks of the Shakespeare by the Sea Festival can provide – jovial live music, fine recitations and mayhap a sword squirmish or two…

The evening’s festivities are hosted by Sir Brad Stone and also feature lively auctions and raffles with incredible items from local businesses and artisans up for grabs.

Oliver’s Farms

Since we opened our doors 4 years ago we have been focused on local ingredients with an emphasis on charcuterie. Del and Dave Oliver of Oliver’s Farm in Placentia have been supplying us with local product for our charcuterie board since day one. We chat weekly with them about what they have available that we can transform into something wonderful for our menu.

Black Box Challenge

As most people know I have retired my chef’s coat and now I wear many hats, I guess that’s what comes with owning your own business. Some days I truly miss my time in the kitchen. The “good old days” high intensity, fast paced, warm days and late nights. Other days I am more than happy to be “retired”. On February 8th during the Black Box portion of the Canadian Culinary Championships I found myself very happy to be a retired cook.
